Time

Laziness is the driving force behind progress.

As every human being, we are trying to minimise our workload while maximising the output. The worst is having to do something twice. Like doing something incorrectly and having to correct it afterwards (if possible) and to go through lengthy trials and explanations why something did go wrong in the first place.

The only way around this dilemma: Do it right first time! This is what we strive for. And without boasting we can proudly say that our clients confirm our Right-First-Time Rate to be unsurpassed by any other CRO.

This high Right-First-Time Rate of course not only suits our laziness. It also improves the quality of our services while simultaneously decreasing the time needed for corrective action like the number and duration of monitoring visits, data queries and their resolution.

In drug development, time is not only money, it is even much more important than money. If R&D costs go up by 50%, the future profit is only decreased by 5% to 10%. But if development time is just a mere 6 months longer, the future profits decrease by 25% to 30%! (ref: Reduction of Drug Development Time, H. Jaeger et al., Pharm. Ind. 53, 6, 539-544 (1991)).

At PHAROS GmbH we are well aware of this fact and take it very seriously. Initially, our approach may seem contradictory: we take much more time in preparing, designing and planning a clinical trial than most others do. However, the time invested here is more than made up for by a speedy project completion. Our basic principle is error prevention! By avoiding them, we avoid error detection and lengthy error correction procedures. Once we are done, we are done.

Here we encounter another seemingly contradictory phenomenon. Our work combines the best of three worlds: high quality, minimum time requirements and optimised costs. Since our quality is high by planning properly, we are finished faster and at lower costs, as we avoid additional work, absorbing staff and time, to detect and correct errors. We do not impose the cost of insufficiency on our clients.

Your personal benefits:

• We have an unsurpassed Right-First-Time-Rate.

• We keep to agreed schedules.

• We regard planning time as an investment into your and our profitability, the ROI is faster and smoother project completion.

• We are well aware of the fact that in a clinical trial there is no trial and error: we can do everything only once, so let it be correct.

• We keep you informed at all times so your decisions can be taken much faster, even as the project still goes on.
